Damos Oliva, Jr.,MD
Dr. Damaso (Danny) Oliva, Jr. was raised in San Antonio, TX. He received a biology degree from St. Mary’s University in San Antonio and his medical degree from Universidad Autonoma de Guadalajara, in Guadalajara, Mexico. In 1996 Dr. Oliva completed his residency in general adult psychiatry at the University of Texas Health Science Center of San Antonio and has been in practice in San Antonio since that time. He is president and owner of Alamo Psychiatric Care, San Antonio, TX, having previously worked with his father, Dr. Damaso Oliva, Sr., who had a successful psychiatric practice for many years here in San Antonio. Dr. Oliva is licensed by the Texas Medical Board. As a practicing psychiatrist, Dr. Oliva has treated patients suffering from major depressive disorder, schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, and Alzheimer’s Disease. Additionally, he has partnered with Clinical Trials of Texas, Inc., a local clinical research company, to conduct clinical trials and to be able to offer cutting edge therapies to his patients. Dr. Oliva is the Director of Psychiatric Services at Southwest General Hospital and Associate Program Director for the Psychiatry Residency Program at the University of Incarnate Word School of Osteopathic Medicine. He is a member of the following professional associations: Bexar County Medical Society, Texas Medical Society, American Psychiatric Association, Bexar County Psychiatric Association. Hospital affiliations include Baptist Hospital System, Methodist Hospital System, Southwest General Hospital, and Warm Springs. Dr. Oliva is fluent in English and Spanish.
