Martha Leatherman, MD
Dr. Leatherman is a physician certified in adult and geriatric psychiatry by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. She maintains a private practice, evaluating and treating elderly adults. She has special expertise in cognitive impairment and dementia.
Dr. Leatherman earned her medical degree from the University of Texas Medical School at Houston where she also completed residency specialty training in psychiatry. She completed fellowship training through the Clinical Psychobiology/Pharmacology Research Training Program of the National Institutes of Mental Health Clinical Research Training Program at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Dr. Leatherman is a past president of the Texas Society of Psychiatric Physicians and the Texas Academy of Psychiatry and has been recognized as an outstanding teacher and scientific investigator by organizations such as the Southern Association for Research in Psychiatry and the New Clinical Drug Evaluation Unit of the National Institute of Mental Health.
