Obesity Self-Scheduler
To qualify for this study, participants must:
- Be 18 years old or older
- BMI greater or equal to 30 or BMI greater or equal to 27 with high blood pressure or high cholesterol [to calculate:Click here]
- Have a history of at least one unsuccessful dietary effort to lose weight
- Have a stable weight (less than 11 pounds of self-reported change) in the past 3 months
- Be willing to use highly effective birth control and not be pregnant or breastfeeding if female
To qualify for this study, participants must NOT:
- Have obesity due to endocrine origin (untreated hypothyroidism, Cushing’s syndrome)
- Have a medical history of genetic obesity
- Have a history of an autoimmune disease or any condition that may be related to retinal disorders
- Have a history of an eating disorder
- Be diabetic
- Have a history of or planned bariatric surgery or intra-abdominal balloon during study participation
- Take any dietary supplement that is for weight management or maintenance of healthy weight
- Have ever attempted suicide in the past
- Have had suicidal ideation in the past year
- Have HIV
- History of severe psychiatric disorders such as bipolar disorder, schizophrenia or major depression in the last 2 years
- Have cancer in the past 5 years (except skin or cervical cancer)
- History of drug or alcohol abuse in the past 5 years
- Use of marijuana in the last 90 days
- History of liver disease
- Have received any investigational drug in the past 3 months
